Despite the lack of demand in the domestic market and Turkey’s poor economic conditions, pipe producers have maintained their prices unchanged this week. Meanwhile, a Turkish pipe manufacturer claims that the main reason for maintaining current levels unchanged is that export sales are slightly stronger than domestic sales.

"We had export sales to Ukraine and Slovakia, and we are trying to increase our export sales, but the economic crisis in Turkey, increased costs and the lack of demand in the domestic market have eliminated our profits and brought us to a breakeven point." a trader told SteelOrbis

Currently, prices in the local hollow section market are $750-800/mt ex-works, unchanged week on week, while export prices have remained unchanged from last Friday at $770-850/mt FOB.
