Romanian suppliers of seamless pipes have failed to push through price increases amid subdued market conditions. Demand from local buyers remains rather slack due to the lack of consumption, while foreign buyers from the Middle East - one of the key markets for Romanian seamless pipes - are less active ahead of Ramadan. Domestic and export prices for Romanian seamless pipes have remained mostly unchanged over the past month due to mainly stable raw material costs and slow market activity. At the same time, import offers of seamless pipes from the Czech Republic have decreased by a maximum of €10/mt over the same period.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €870-900/mt ($974-1,008/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-920/mt ($1,008-1,030/mt) FCA, while 12" pipes are at levels of €925-945/mt ($1,036-1,058/mt) FCA.
Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €900-930/mt ($1,008-1,042/mt) CPT.
