Prices for Mexican domestic hollow structural section (HSS) referenced ASTM-A500 increased US$3/mt ex-mill during the last two weeks, to reach US$852/mt ex-mill.

However, demand for HSS is weak, sources say, reporting that around 65-70 percent of construction sector companies are suffering from the delay of public works funds. Many smaller customers have been left waiting for the opportunity for smaller projects while other, larger companies have not had significant growth this year, but have at least maintained their stability mainly through participation private sector projects, "but the reality is that the sector has been beaten this year as well," sources concluded.
