Another increase of iron ore prices over the week in the Chinese spot market, coupled with stable ocean freight rates, neutral on FOB quotations, resulted in a $2/mt increase in average on weekly basis for the Brazilian iron ore prices, after increases of $6/mt last week and $2/mt the week before.
Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are now estimated to be traded for export from Brazil at $98/mt, the equivalent lumps at $119/mt and blast furnace grade pellets at $166/mt, FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, for equivalent ores, the prices are $92/mt for sinter feed fines, $113/mt for lumps and $160/mt for blast furnace grade pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.
