Two Turkish producers increase ship scrap prices slightly

Although two Izmir-based Turkish mills have increased their ship scrap purchase prices by $5/mt from $450/mt to $455/mt, the general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market has remained unchanged at $450-480/mt. The $25-30/mt difference between the lower and upper ends of local ship scrap quotations is still considered to be large. Meanwhile, Turkey is getting ready for a week-long holiday (July 17-25) and will return to the market on Monday 26.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
