Turkish mills’ scrap booking activity remains quiet in first week of 2012

Ex-Black Sea A3 scrap offers given to Turkish mills are standing at $455-460/mt CFR in general. In Romania, scrap collection prices are at about $417/mt, while ex-Romania A3 scrap offers to Turkey are at $455/mt CFR.

In the meantime, ex-Russia (Black Sea) A3 scrap offers for Turkish mills are standing at the price range of $455-460/mt CFR and it is heard that some A3 scrap transactions from Russia to Turkey have been concluded this week at $455/mt CFR Marmara Sea ports.

The scrap market is expected to gain more clarity in the coming days after the ex-US and ex-Canada scrap bookings to Turkey heard today, December 4. However, Turkish mills have not been very active in their scrap bookings lately.
