Over the past week, Izmir-based Turkish mills have reduced their ship scrap procurement prices further, by $10-15/mt, cutting their prices to $365-370/mt. The total decline in Turkey’s ship scrap market has reached $90-105/mt since the beginning of June. Since the downtrend of Turkey’s import scrap market is expected to continue, ship scrap prices may also decline further this week.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

Özkan Demir Çelik

370

-10

Ege Çelik

365

-15

İDÇ

370

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
