Turkey’s domestic scrap purchase prices increase on upper end

Friday, 05 December 2025 17:46:03 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

With some Turkish mills increasing their local scrap procurement prices over the past week by TRY 150-800/mt or $3-18/mt, the overall domestic scrap price range has increased on the upper end. Turkish lira-based prices which remained stable were matched by a $1/mt drop in the equivalent dollar prices. Turkish mills are showing interest in local scrap as finding available deep sea and short sea cargoes or the compositions they need is challenging.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has settled at TRY 13,900-15,800/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based quotations are at $327-372/mt.
