Four more deep sea scrap transactions have been freshly disclosed in the Turkish market, all closed for March shipments. In the deals, the ex-Baltic HMS I/II 80:20 benchmark price was fixed within $275-279/mt CFR for now, versus $276/mt CFR in the previous deal. In addition, an ex-EU scrap lot has finally been sold at $276/mt CFR for the same grade, settling at the higher end of the earlier estimated range.
A scrap seller from Finland, which is considered to be a new supplier in the market, has sold 13,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 at $279/mt CFR, 8,000 mt of shredded scrap at $284/mt CFR and 9,000 mt of bonus grade at $289/mt CFR, to a Marmara region-based Turkish mill.
Another ex-Baltic lot has been sold from Sweden to the same buyer at $279/mt CFR for 9,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20, $284/mt CFR for 15,000 mt shredded and $289/mt CFR for 6,000 mt of bonus grade, SteelOrbis has learned.
Two more cargoes were sold to an Iskenderun region-based mill. A 30,000 mt lot from St. Petersburg was traded, in which HMS I/II 80:20 scrap was priced at $275/mt CFR, bonus grade at $280/mt CFR and rails at $290/mt CFR. An Belgian supplier has sold 19,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 at $276/mt CFR and 16,000 mt of shredded scrap at $286/mt CFR.
