The leading Japanese EAF-based steel producer Tokyo Steel has made consecutive announcements on December 25-26, first cutting its prices slightly for Tahara and Okayama regions, then suspending local scrap procurement activities in Takamatsu plant.

The general price range for H2 grade scrap is now at JPY 44,000-44,500/mt ($281-284/mt) depending on the mill.
