Since SteelOrbis’ last report published on December 6, two mills in Turkey’s Izmir region have decided to cut their ship scrap purchase prices by $10-12/mt, while the others have kept them unchanged. As a result, the general range in Turkey’s ship scrap market is now at $465-485/mt for delivery to mill by truck. “The decrease recorded in the deep sea segment may take its toll on ship scrap too in the coming period,” one source commented.
