Sharp decrease in Turkey’s ship scrap market

Since SteelOrbis’ previous report published on Friday, August 20, ship scrap procurement prices of Turkish mills have decreased sharply by $3-15/mt to below $450s/mt. The general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market has moved down from $450-455/mt to $435-447/mt, delivery to mill by truck. The reduction in Turkey’s deep sea scrap prices have also impacted the mood in the ship scrap segment, SteelOrbis understands.
