One Turkish mill cuts ship scrap price, another returns to the market

During the past week, the general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market has remain stable at $450-480/mt. One mill in Turkey’s Izmir region decreased its prices by $5/mt to $450/mt, while Ozkan Demir Celik returned to the market today, June 22, for ship scrap purchases with its price also at $450/mt. Market sources state that ship scrap flow to producers is quite strong, while the $30/mt gap between the lower and higher ends makes little difference in terms of the tonnages received by the mills.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
