Most Turkish mills revise domestic scrap prices down

Tuesday, 24 March 2020 17:53:31 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, March 24, SteelOrbis has observed that most Turkish mills have revised their domestic scrap purchase prices downwards by TRY 45-90/mt, depending on the grade. This has mostly been reflected as a $4-12/mt decrease in their dollar-based prices. Two mills are still out of the market, while Ege Celik has announced that it is planning maintenance works which will start in the current week.

In the meantime, the mills that have kept their Turkish lira prices stable have raised their scrap purchase prices on US dollar basis by $2-3/mt due to the slight appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar.
