During the given week, scrap prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a downtrend despite the increasing capacity utilization rates of electric furnaces. High temperatures in southern China and heavy rains in northern China have exerted a negative impact on the circulation of scrap supplies, bolstering prices to a certain degree. However, finished steel prices have moved down lately, weakening scrap prices. It is thought that scrap prices in the Chinese domestic market will edge down, though by a limited margin, in the coming week.
