Iron ore prices have declined again today Friday, August 9, after a break on Thursday. Prices of Australian iron ore fines with 62 percent Fe content lost $2.75/mt compared to Thursday falling to $90-92/mt CFR, while on weekly basis they have dropped by $16/mt, according to SteelOrbis’ information. Brazilian 65 percent Fe fines have decreased by $3/mt to $99-100/mt CFR, compared to Thursday.

Today’s decline has fully offset the increase seen yesterday, as customers were not showing interest in purchases in the overseas market. There have been no deals on trading platforms on Friday. January futures at the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell by 2.8 percent over the day to RMB 645.5/mt.
