Graphite electrode prices in China encounter mixed movement

On June 25, SteelOrbis reported that the average domestic graphite electrode price in China for HP (high-powered) 450 graphite grade was reportedly at RMB 25,000/mt ($3,633/mt) while UHP 600 was reportedly at RMB 58,000/mt ($8,430/mt), all prices ex-warehouse.

According to sources, the latest average domestic graphite electrode price in China for HP (high-powered) 450 graphite grade is now reportedly at RMB 24,000/mt ($3,483/mt) while UHP 600 is now reportedly at RMB 59,000/mt ($8,563/mt), all prices ex-warehouse. The average price on HP 450 has decreased by $150/mt while the UHP 600 average price has increased by $133/mt. The two grades have encountered divergent movements as a result of a tighter supply of UHP 600-grade electrodes in the Chinese market.
