Ex-CIS pig iron prices to the international markets have moved sideways over the past week at $365-385/mt FOB. In the given week, demand in the US for ex-CIS pig iron has improved slightly, while demand for ex-CIS pig iron in other export markets has been at low levels.

Ex-CIS pig iron offers to the US have remained stable week on week at $390-400/mt CFR. The expectations of a further rise in domestic scrap prices in the US have caused CIS-based pig iron producers to plan further price increases for the US.

Meanwhile, ex-CSI pig iron offers to Italy have fallen slightly week on week to $390-400/mt CFR Marghera. Due to buyers asking for lower prices and giving firm bids $5-10/mt lower than last week’s price levela, ex-CIS pig iron offers to Italy have moved down over the past week.

Lastly, no new ex-CIS pig iron offer has been heard in Turkey after the $385-390/mt CFR levels given last week.
