Reflecting reduced quotations in the Chinese spot market, iron ore sinter feed fines and pellet prices in Brazil have declined on average by $5/mt week-on-week, while the price of lumps has declined by $10/mt during the period.

Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are now estimated to be traded for export from Brazil at $60/mt, the equivalent lumps at $75/mt and blast furnace grade pellets at $121/mt, all FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, for equivalent ores, the prices are $54/mt for sinter feed fines, $69/mt for lumps and $115/mt for blast furnace grade pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.

Preliminary indications from the country’s customs point to a decline in August from the combined 34.26 million mt of iron ore and pellets exported in July.
