Wire rod prices in Turkish market

SteelOrbis has learned that current offers for mesh grade 6.5-8 mm wire rod in the local Turkish steel market are as follows:

TRY 1,530-1,540/mt ($728-733/mt) ex-works

Izmir

TRY 1,510-1,520/mt ($719-724/mt) ex-works

Iskenderun

TRY 1,544-1,554/mt ($735-740/mt) ex-works

Wire rod prices for Thrace stand at TRY 1,515-1,520/mt ($721-724/mt) ex-works in Biga, Çanakkale, while there are no offers given to Istanbul at the moment.

The above prices are on actual weight basis. The dollar prices exclude VAT, while the TRY prices include VAT.

In the Turkish domestic wire rod market, local buyers are only concluding transactions according to their needs and so sales of wire rod are currently on the slow side. It is heard that lower prices are also available in the market for real buyers.
