SteelOrbis has been informed that offers from a steel producer in Izmir in Turkey’s Aegean region for 5.5 mm drawing quality wire rod have been issued at $630/mt ex-works, while its offers for 20MnB4 grade have been set at $730/mt ex-works.
In addition, the producer’s offers for 5.5 mm drawing quality wire rod are at $645/mt delivered to Istanbul and its offers for 20MnB4 grade are at $745/mt delivered to Istanbul. Its offers have risen by $5-10/mt for depending on the grade. The main reasons for the price increases are the ongoing currency fluctuations and the positive sentiments in the import scrap segment. All prices are as compared to the offers seen on Monday, March 16.
The mill has increased its 5.5-16 mm SAE 1010/mesh grade price by $10/mt to $600/mt, while also raising its 5.5-16 mm SAE 1010/mesh grade-2A price by $10/mt, to $600/mt ex-works in Izmir, as compared to March 16.
All the above prices exclude 20 percent VAT and are for cash payments.
