Brazilian producers remain negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export in a price range of $610/mt to $620/mt FOB, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The source added that within the range, recent deals are closer to $620/mt, still reflecting uncertainties regarding potential export barriers to the US due to the Section 232 investigation.

In January, Brazil exported a record 53,000 mt of wire rod, of which 22,700 mt went to the US.

ArcelorMittal exported wire rod in January at $616/mt and Gerdau at $559/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in November.
