After rising slightly last week, US import rebar offers have maintained stability this week, but sources tell SteelOrbis that the trend is still pointing upward, and prices are likely to see small upticks in the near-term. The outlook is supported by continually strong demand for rebar in the US, along with an expectation that US domestic rebar prices could start to firm before the end of the year.
For now, US import rebar offers are stable week-on-week, at $28.75-$29.75 cwt. ($634-$656/mt or $575-$595/nt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports from Turkey, and $28.50-$29.50 cwt. ($628-$650/mt or $570-$590/nt) DDP Houston from Mexico.
