US import rebar prices trend firm

Strong demand continues to keep both domestic and import rebar offers to the US high, and sources tell SteelOrbis the trend should continue in the near-term. Even so, import offer prices from Turkey are unchanged week-on-week, still ranging from $37.50-$39.50 cwt. ($827-$871/mt or $750-$770/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.

US import rebar offers from Mexico, meanwhile, are up $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) week-on-week, now ranging from $37.00-$38.00 cwt. ($816-$838/mt or $740-$760/nt) DDP Houston. Sources tell SteelOrbis import offers from both countries could continue to see minor upticks.
