While sources tell SteelOrbis that there is plenty of already-arrived import rebar tonnage available at US ports, interest in future arrivals is dwindling amidst “never-ending uncertainty” in the market. However, offer prices for future arrivals have not declined in an attempt to pad order books—at least not yet, some sources say, while there is ample availability of positions.

Import rebar offers in the US market from Italy and Spain are still around $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports. As for currently available inventory at the ports, prices from the same countries are still around $36.00-$37.00 cwt. ($794-$816/mt or $720-$740/nt) DDP loaded truck in the Gulf, and about $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) higher on the East coast.
