SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that the expected price decreases in Turkey’s wire rod export offers have materialized this week, with Turkish wire rod export offers now standing at $580-585/mt FOB, indicating a softening of $20/mt since last week.

Market sources state that the prices have decreased amid declines in scrap prices and the slight weakening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira this week. Meanwhile, even though demand for Turkish wire rod export offers is on the weak side, the volume of inquiries from Tunisia for Turkish wire rod has increased, though no new transaction from Turkey to Tunisia has been heard so far.
