Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their prices stable in the Iskenderun region both in the local currency and US dollar basis over the past week. In addition, merchant bar prices in the rest of the country have fallen by TRY 50-150/mt ($1-4/mt) week on week. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 25,200/mt ($610/mt) ex-works today.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in October or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most buyers are exerting pressure for further discounts due to the pessimistic outlook in the import scrap segment.
