Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly kept their official domestic merchant bar prices unchanged in the local currency with minor declines on US dollar basis. Only in the Iskenderun region have merchant bar prices fallen in the local currency, by TRY 250/mt ($9/mt), amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and weaker import scrap prices. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 22,500/mt ($591/mt) ex-works today, April 15. Additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers and cash payment.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in May or from stocks, depending on the size.
