Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their domestic merchant bar prices unchanged in the local currency, with only minor changes on US dollar basis, amid ongoing currency fluctuations over the past week.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,250/mt ($600/mt) ex-works today, February 17, indicating a decrease of only $2/mt on US dollar basis, while remaining stable in the local currency, week on week.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in late March or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are monitoring the import scrap price trend, while only purhasing in line with their daily needs.
