Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly cut their prices by TRY 250-475/mt ($9-15/mt) amid weaker import scrap prices. Only in the Iskenderun region have merchant bar prices remained stable in the local currency, with minor changes on US dollar basis amid the ongoing currency fluctuations. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 22,500/mt ($588/mt) ex-works today, April 22.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in late May or from stocks, depending on the size.
