In the last two weeks, ex-Turkey merchant bar export offers have increased by $60/mt. The main reasons are the stronger scrap and billet prices and also currency fluctuations.

Ex-Turkey equal angle prices have settled at $820-840/mt FOB, versus $760-780/mt two weeks ago. Most sellers are mainly offering for August-September shipment, while lots for extended delivery are also available. “ We believe that the EU quota system extension will be announced in the short term. As a result, we are continuing our negotiations with our European clients for future orders,” one source mentioned.

Turkish merchant bar producers have been receiving inquiries from Latin America, the EU and West Africa.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

820-840

IPN-UPN

830-850

Flat bar

850-870
