As of today, March 4, official wire rod prices in Turkey have risen by $5-10/mt due to the higher production costs, import billet prices spesifically depending on the region. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $565/mt ex-works, up by $10/mt over the day, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $560-575/mt ex-works versus $550-570/mt ex-works, yesterday.
Most buyers are monitoring the import scrap and billet prices and not rushing to purchase material in the unclear financial situation in the country.
