As of today, February 17, official wire rod prices in Turkey have risen by $5-10/mt over the past week depending on the region, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and relatively reduced supply ahead of Ramadan. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $560/mt ex-works, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $555-575/mt ex-works, indicating an increase of $5/mt on the lower end week on week.
Most buyers are monitoring the import scrap price trend and are purchasing only in line with their daily needs.
