Today, November 24, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 50/mt ($2-3/mt) in the Iskenderun and Karabuk regions, while remaining stable in the rest of the country, amid the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have remained at TRY 13,950-14,200/mt or $635-646/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price stable at $640/mt ex-works today. Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering rebar at $640-645/mt ex-works. Sources report 20,000-25,000 mt of rebar were traded at $630/mt ex-works in the Izmir region yesterday. The Turkish Central Bank has cut interest rates from 10.5 percent to nine percent today.
