As of today, June 30, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 200-300/mt ($4-6/mt) against the backdrop of ongoing currency fluctuations and relatively firm import scrap prices, compared to Thursday, June 23. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,300-26,000/mt or $530-545/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.78.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $535-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, unchanged as compared to June 26, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $530-555/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($560/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,700-26,100/mt ($538-547/mt) ex-warehouse, for serious buyers.
The general sentiment on the demand side is still negative.
