As of today, May 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 300-700/mt ($4-14/mt) amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the relatively positive sentiment in the import scrap segment, compared to Monday, April 28. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 24,900-25,500/mt or $538-551/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.58.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $540-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, stable week on week, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $535-555/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt, for cash payment only.
Two Iskenderun-based mills have issued their rebar prices at TRY 25,700-25,800/mt ($555-557/mt) ex-works today. Sources report that the workable rebar price in this region is around TRY 25,250-25,500/mt ($545-551/mt) ex-works amid aggressive pricing. Moreover, a few re-rollers in the same region are offering rebar at TRY 25,000-25,400/mt ($540-549/mt) ex-warehouse, SteelOrbis has heard.
