Today, September 14, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 100-400/mt ($1-11/mt) amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and with deep sea scrap quotations remaining firm compared to Monday, September 11. Rebar spot prices in the Iskenderun region have risen relatively higher compared to the rest of the country amid the lack of supply in the region. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,600-18,900/mt or $575-584/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 26.95.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $590/mt ex-works today. Most Marmara-based mills are offering official rebar prices at $585/mt ex-works. According to sources, the workable rebar price level is around $580/mt ex-works. One Izmir-based mill has increased its rebar price by $5/mt to $575/mt ex-works today. Another mill in the same region is offering rebar at TRY 19,000/mt ($588/mt) ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, a few re-rollers are offering rebar at TRY 19,000-19,100/mt ($588-591/mt) ex-warehouse. Most local traders are monitoring the import scrap price trend closely before restocking.
