As of today, July 10, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged in the local currency, with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Monday, July 7. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,200-25,800/mt or $524-537/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 40,07.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $530-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, stable as compared to July 7, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $525-545/mt ex-works, falling by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($556/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,400-25,800/mt ($528-537/mt) ex-warehouse, for serious buyers.
According to sources, around 25,000 mt of rebar were traded at $520-525/mt ex-works in the Izmir region yesterday, but this has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
One Samsun-based mill has closed its rebar sales until Monday, July 21.
Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases while monitoring the import scrap price trend.
