As of today, June 10, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained stable in the local currency with only minor changes on US dollar basis amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, compared to Thursday, May 29. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,500-26,100/mt or $542-554/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.23.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $545-565/mt ex-works versus $560-570/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, as compared to May 29, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $540-560/mt ex-works, down by $5/mt over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($568/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,500-25,750/mt ($542-547/mt) ex-warehouse for serious buyers. It is worth mentioning that one Iskenderun-based mill has set its conversion cost for 10 mm and 8 mm at TRY 1,000/mt ($21/mt) and TRY 1,200/mt ($25/mt) respectively since the beginning of June. Most re-rollers in this region are offering conversion costs for the abovementioned sizes at TRY 800/mt($17/mt) and TRY 1,000/mt ($21/mt).
One Samsun-based mill has closed its rebar sales until Monday, June 16, due to its ongoing wire rod deliveries.
