As of today, June 19, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100/mt($4-5/mt) amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Monday, June 16. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,300-25,900/mt or $533-546/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.55.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $540-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, down by $5/mt on the higher end as compared to June 16, while the workable rebar prices in these regions also vary at $535-555/mt ex-works, also down by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($564/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar still at around TRY 25,700-26,000/mt ($542-548/mt) ex-warehouse, for serious buyers. In Iskenderun, producers kept their rebar prices stable in local currency, while prices from re-rollers declined by $2/mt over the same period.
Turkish Central Bank has kept its interest rate at 46 percent today.
