As of today, December 19, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-200/mt ($4-7/mt) in order to offset currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, as compared to Monday, December 16. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,600-24,200/mt or $561-575/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 35.08.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions still vary at $565-585/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S’s prices, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $565-580/mt ex-works, for cash payment only.
The general sentiment on the demand side is negative.
