Today, August 31, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 50-100/mt ($1-3/mt) compared to Monday, August 28 amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,700-18,900/mt or $584-590/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 26.70.
Icdas has kept its dollar-based rebar price stable at TRY 18,900/mt ($590/mt) ex-works today. Most Marmara-based mills are stilll offering their official rebar prices at $590-600/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 18,900/mt ($590/mt) ex-works today. Sources report that energy prices for industrial use in Turkey may be increased tomorrow, September 1, though the official tariff announcements for natural gas and electricity for industrial use for September 2023 have not been released so far.
