Today, May 8, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 100-200/mt ($3-8/mt) compared to Thursday, May 4 against the backdrop of currency fluctuations, some local traders have been restocking material ahead of the elections in order to be on the safe side, even if the elections result in a more unclear financial situation in the economy. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,700-14,900/mt or $639-647/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has kept its official rebar price at $660/mt ex-works today. Sources report the workable rebar price range varies at $650-660/mt ex-works for serious buyers only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has opened its rebar sales today at TRY 14,800/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, equal to $643/mt at the current exchange rate, falling by TRY 200/mt ($10/mt) compared to Wednesday, May 3.
