Today, October 16, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-300/mt ($6-13/mt) in the local currency, against the backdrop of the recent decrease in import scrap prices and the ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to Thursday, October 12. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,500-18,900/mt or $553-565/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 27.90.
Icdas has cut its official dollar-based rebar price by $20/mt to $570/mt ex-works today. Most Izmir and Marmara-based mills are offering official rebar prices at $555-580/mt ex-works.
One Iskenderun-based mill is offering its official rebar price at TRY 19,000/mt ($568/mt) ex-works today.
Sources report a total of 15,000 mt of rebar were traded at $553/mt and $555/mt ex-works in the Izmir region at the end of last week.
