Turkish domestic rebar spot prices move down

Today, August 3, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-200/mt ($3-7/mt) compared to Monday, July 31 amid sluggish demand and the unclear financial situation in the country. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 17,900-18,100/mt or $553-559/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 26.97.

Icdas A.S has kept its official rebar price at $580/mt ex-works today. Sources report that a few mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are offering rebar at $560-570/mt ex-works, falling by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period. Around 7,000 mt of rebar have been traded at $545/mt ex-works in the Izmir region today, SteelOrbis has heard. However, it has not been confirmed by the time of publication. A few local traders are also applying aggressive pric to generate sales.
