Turkish domestic rebar spot prices move down

Today, September 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100/mt ($5/mt) compared to Monday, September 5, against the backdrop of the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,700-15,000/mt or $683-697/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.

Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering their official rebar prices at $700-710/mt ex-works. However, the workable rebar prices are at $680-690/mt and even slightly lower levels, SteelOrbis has heard. Moreover, a small tonnage of rebar has been traded $685-690/mt ex-works today.

Most local traders are exerting pressure for additional discounts amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and they are monitoring the import scrap price trend closely.
