Today, September 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mostly remained unchanged in the local currency, except in the Iskenderun region where they have fallen by TRY 50/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis, as compared to Monday, September 4, amid ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,400-18,700/mt or $571-580/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 26.85.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $590/mt ex-works today. Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are offering official rebar price at $570-595/mt ex-works, a few mills are offering additional $10-15/mt on the higher end, SteelOrbis has heard. In addition, a sale of around 3,000 mt of rebar has been rumored at $585/mt ex-works in the Marmara region. Sources report around 10,000 mt of rebar were traded at TRY 18,250/mt ($566/mt) ex-works in the Izmir region yesterday. A few local traders have been exerting pressure on prices following this rebar sale.
In the Iskenderun region, a few re-rollers were offering rebar at TRY 18,500-18,600/mt ($574-577/mt) ex-warehouse yesterday.
