As of today, July 31, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mostly remained unchanged in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis, except rising by TRY 200/mt ($3/mt) in the Iskenderun region amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Monday, July 28. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 26,300-27,200/mt or $540-558/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 40.59.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $550-570/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, also stable as compared to July 28, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $545-555/mt ex-works, unchanged over the same period, for cash payment only. Sources report, even slightly below $545/mt ex-works is available in the Izmir region for high volume rebar sales.
