As of today, June 12, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100/mt ($5/mt) except for rebar prices in the Izmir region which have remained stable in the local currency with a decrease of $3/mt against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Tuesday, June 10. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,500-26,000/mt or $540-551/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.34.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions still vary at $545-565/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, as compared to June 10, while the workable rebar prices in these regions also vary at $540-560/mt ex-works, stable over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($567/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,600-25,750/mt ($542-545/mt) ex-warehouse for serious buyers. Moreover, one Iskenderun-based re-roller has closed its sales of small rebar sizes until Monday, June 16.
