Today, September 15, in the local currency Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 20-50/mt ($3-6/mt) since the beginning of this week, while rebar spot prices are only stable in the Karabuk region, with just minor changes on US dollar basis, against the backdrop of currency fluctuations and recent rebar transactions. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 6,600-6,750/mt or $663-678/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at $670-680/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.
In the Izmir region, sources report one Izmir-based mill is handling ongoing export bookings and is keeping its rebar price relatively higher at $665/mt ex-works. In addition, another mill in this region is applying an aggressive pricing policy and has succeeded in selling around 23,000 mt of rebar at $655/mt ex-works for October delivery.
